19.....Crumpy's a busy lad. 'crump file'[*]

19.....Great news to hear Queenslander Darren Groves is well on the road to recovery and in fact has reeled off a few very quick practice laps at Workington last weekend. After his nasty neck injury of 14 months ago, Darren has wisely followed doctors orders throughout the healing process and is fully recovered. For more info and pics, go to [*]  

18.....Mildura's Jason Lyons has sensationally won the Overseas Final held at Poole in the UK with a superb maximum. WA's Steve Johnston rode to a creditable equal 5th place. Both Aussies progress to the next World Grand Prix qualifying stage...the Inter-Continental Final in Sweden... in August. South Australians Nigel Sadler (11th), Brett Woodifield (eq12th), Shane Parker (eq 12th) missed the cut to proceed.

16....."Australian Speedway Bike Central at www.throttlejockey.net which recently announced it was closing, has decided to still continue to operate but will scale down its coverage of speedway to concentrate only on the Australian Speedway and Dirt track scene. But will still continue to bring photo coverage of selected British Elite and Premier Leagues, SGP Series and European Speedway".

14.....Arena-Essex's Lee Herne is still in pain from a wrist injury sustained a week ago at Newcastle and may have in fact broken a scaphoid bone. Could be out of action for up to 8 weeks.

10.....Oz GP Competiton results after two rounds now posted [*]

10.....A GREAT DAY FOR AUSTRALIA! Jason Crump has brilliantly ridden to second place in the British Grand Prix at Cardiff. Ryan Sullivan and Todd Wiltshire have placed 5th and 6th with a win and second respectively in the Consolation Final. Leigh Adams finished in 10th place. Tony Rickardsson won the GP. 9.....Reports from the closed practice session at Cardiff are extremely favourable and hopes are high for a truly great night's racing. The surface appeared to hold up well in the session with many racing lines available on the 280-290 meter track. Reportedly, 33,000 tickets had been sold up to a couple of days ago!

8.....Coming up down under is the Australian Motorcycle Expo from Friday August 31st to Sunday September 2nd at the Royal Exhibition Building Melbourne. 7.....Aussie Pay TV channel C7 will broadcast the GP live at 4.00am sunday morning EST. The replay will now be shown at 8.30pm MONDAY 11th. not sunday night.

7.....Brisbane's Clinton Leitch may not be able to ride again for up to two years. A doctor's diagnosis on his nasty arm injury sustained at Grafton NSW back late last year has found the muscle has pulled away from the bone and damaged nerve endings.

6.....A Junior Winter Series at Mildura's Olympic Park will kick off on June 23. Ring Ross or Jenni Woodward on 03-5022 2882 to nominate. Seniors can practice afterwards. See 'calendar' for further dates.

5.....Mick Powell has crashed heavily at Workington and broken his pelvis and 3 or 4 ribs. He joins Brent Collyer with season ending injuries.
